“It was not me but the Lord.” With that spirit and conviction, St. Arnold Janssen submitted to the will of the Father. And founded in 1875, the Society of the Divine Word, also known as Divine Word Missionaries, in a time when everything seems to be shaking and sinking. This September 8th 2021, we celebrate 146 years of God’s grace and faithfulness to the SVD.

Let us pray. "O Word Incarnate, from a very humble beginning, You have made the Society of the Divine Word, upon whose birth we celebrate this September 8th together with our Blessed Mother, into a robust tree bearing much fruit. Grant we pray, that You continue to stir up in every SVD and the lay mission partners to remain bearers of Your Good News so that the heart of Jesus may live in the hearts of all. Amen."
