The EVAP Canister temporarily stores fuel vapor from the fuel tank until it can be purged (sent) to the engine and burned. Common symptoms for an inactive EVAP Canister Vent Shut Valve are engine stalls, inability to pass emissions test and the fuel tank is hard to fill.
