Full power overlay and race on-board footage from the Expert race, at Round 3 of the British National Points Series Cross Country Mountain Bike Race at Matterley Basin, in Winchester.
The course was local to me and one I had raced earlier in the year, but the wet and muddy conditions made for some tough racing. The course had some steep and brutal climbs, with fast muddy singletrack. Being my first National Race as an 'Expert' it was a big jump up, with no let up throughout. It was full gas from start to finish and big power needed to hold the wheel up the climbs. Mistakes were made, but it's all a massive learning curve.
