Yemenite tzitzit are tied with either 7 or 13 "chulyot," which are special knots described by the Rambam in the second chapter of Hilchot Tzitzit. Each chulyah consists of three windings, and the tzitzit strings remain bare between the chulyot. Many Yemenite Jews continue to follow this custom to the present day.
We made this video because the Yemenite tzitzit knots are very hard to learn on your own, but not so hard to do. However, if you would rather have them tied for you, at Ben's Tallit Shop we are set up to tie Rambam tzitzit on any tallit or tallit katan we sell. [ Ссылка ]
Among those who wear techelet tzitzit, the Yemenite/Rambam tying method is quite popular among Yemenites, of course, many Sephardim, and a significant number of Ashkenazim as well. This video does not demonstrate how to tie Rambam tzitzit with techelet, but if you plan to do so it is very advisable that you learn the basic knot thoroughly before you try to tie Rambam tzitzit with techelet.
