Friedrich Schuber lebt und arbeitet seit über 40 Jahren in Nürnberg und ist dort als namhafter Aquarellist und Aquarelllehrer bekannt. Schwerpunkte seines Oeuvres bilden Landschaften und Stadtansichten. Seit den 1980er-Jahren setzt er sich intensiv mit der Aquarellmalerei auseinander und damit, wie etwas ins Licht gestellt werden kann, damit eine bildhafte und spannungsreiche Komposition entsteht. Nicht nur der darstellende Blick auf Motive und Gegenstände ist charakteristisch für einen Maler, sondern auch das „Wie" der Umsetzung. Seine Technik ist das Aquarell, das für ihn die „farbige Handschrift des Lebens" darstellt. Im Gespräch mit Thomas May, freier Künstler und Kunstpädagoge, kommt Friedrich Schuber auf der DVD selbst zu Wort und erläutert, wie seine Aquarelle entstehen.
