Talented footballers in Singapore as young as 12 will soon be able to move between academies or clubs -- with a price. This is among new youth development initiatives that the Football Association of Singapore wants to roll out in 2024. Under new plans by the FAS, local youth football academies will be financially compensated when their players leave for greener pastures, or when they turn pro. But these academies must first be certified through FAS' new accreditation system. This database also allows them to monitor player development and identify talents early.
