I recently purchase a guitar (a cheap guitar) and decided to change the strings that comes with it. In the shop that sold me the guitar (a 2nd hand store) they were selling Elixir Nanoweb strings half the price that you would find on Lazada/Shopee and from a proper guitar store.
After getting it, I found out that the packaging was not up to par with some wired prints i.e., overprints, low resolution. So I went and bought a new strings from a reputable guitar shop and a did an comparison.
Up front summary:
1. The original stings slaves are more “yellow” as compare to the fake.
2. The barcode and embossing on the on the original have a “higher resolution”.
3. Using a multi-meter continuity test, the original has no community where there is coated.
4. The color of the stings on the original looks “brighter”
