Sambal matah is originated from Bali, Indonesia. Many people do not know about or hear of Indonesia, but you sure know Bali 🙂
Sambal matah is made with all raw ingredients. Sambal Matah is a deliciously piquant shallot salsa or from Bali, Indonesia, with beautiful citrusy and umami notes. The former from both the lime juice and the lemongrass.
Ingredients:
4 shallots
4 red bird’s eye chillies/ Thai Chilies (can customised)
1 small clove garlic (optional)
1 lemongrass bottom half
1 Bunga Kantan (Torch Ginger Buds) (Optional)
5 kefir leaves
1 tsp coconut oil (up to you if you want to add this)
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp sugar
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 lime
½ tsp shrimp paste (optional)
Instructions:
1. Chop up all the ingredients
2. Add pinch of salt and sugar
3. Heat the pan, add some coconut oil
4. Pour the heated oil to the bowl with the ingredients
5. Add some lime juice
6. Done
