• पुस्तक की प्रस्तावना डेक्कन यूनिवर्सिटी के कुलपति डॉ. वसंत शिंदे ने लिखी है. उनके द्वारा दी गई जानकारी के अनुसार पिछले एक दशक के दौरान कई विषयों के विद्वानों की शैक्षणिक पहल और पुरातात्विक एजेंसियों की तत्परता से इस नदी के अस्तित्व का पता चला है.
• पहले यह नदी उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत के विस्तृत क्षेत्र में मौजूद थी. अब यह नदी उत्तर—पश्चिम भारत में बहने वाली घग्गर—हाकरा के नाम से जानी जाती है.
