The northeastern state of Pernambuco is the Zika capital of Brazil — home to one fourth of the cases of microencephaly in the country.
While scientists and health officials are still struggling to get a handle on the effects and possible treatments for the virus, a generation of Zika babies are born.
Their mothers face the daily challenges of raising a special needs baby, compounded with prejudice from their peers, in the streets, and in the public health system.
But now Brazil's Zika Mothers are getting organized and speaking out.
