On Wednesday, February 5th, The Smithsonian's Lemelson Center kicked off of its award-winning, Innovative Lives program series at the National Museum of American History with the “Adaptive Skateboarding, WCMX, and Inventing Your Own Path” panel, featuring adaptive skateboarders Oscar Loreto Jr. (USA Skateboarding board member and Chairman of Adaptive Skateboarding committee), Real Skateboards pro Dan Mancina and WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) icon Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham.
Together, through personal stories and conversation, these inspiring figures will explore how innovation drives accessibility and the critical role of diversity, adaptability, and inclusion in skate and WCMX culture. Here are some panelist slams and equipment malfunctions!
