Nao Victoria a full size replica of the first ship to circumnavigate the glove has arrived off Kent, UK this afternoon (30 July 2024).
The original ship left Seville in 1519, commanded by Juan Sebastian Elcano, returning in 1522 to cement its place in maritime history. The replica vessel is visiting Chatham as part of its European tour to educate visitors on the feats of Spanish navigation.
Footage shows the vessel arriving on the Medway Estuary as it passed Sheerness at 5pm local time.
