The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) confirmed on Tuesday that their Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, was indeed assaulted by the Personal Secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The party stated that Arvind Kejriwal would take strong action against his Personal Secretary, Bibhav Kumar.
The incident occurred on Monday morning at the Chief Minister's residence and became public knowledge after Maliwal reported it to the Civil Lines police station. She also called the police emergency line (PCR) following the assault.
In his first public statement regarding the matter, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh acknowledged the incident and confirmed that the Chief Minister has taken notice of it and will enforce severe measures.
