I got the idea of turning my drill into a makeshift lathe while watching some Mr Custom Crafts videos, so if you like this sorta thing, definitely go check out his channel!

For each piece, I started with various files, then sanded with 500, 1000, and 1200 grit sandpaper, finishing up with the super fine steel wool, and polishing up with some Nevr-dull I had laying around.
To cut the pieces, I used a jeweler's saw, which is a lot of fun to work with! I will post links to the tools very soon :)
UPDATE! So many of you have asked how long this took. It's hard to say exactly. I work a full time job (for now!), so some days I can get an hour or two in. Some days I can't get any time in. This took about a month, working a little at a time. So if I had to guess I'd say 25-30 hours, maybe more. Keep in mind, moving and setting up the camera for each shot really adds a bit of time as well.
TL;DR.. a while.
