In tonight's edition: Kenya’s chief prosecutor arrests scores of civil servants in a large-scale corruption probe. Also, Madagascar sees a spike in kidnappings of business people, mostly of Indian and Pakistani descent. And Siya Kolisi becomes the first black South African to captain the Springboks in a full test match.
Kenya's top prosecutor moves to charge 54 suspects over the theft of at least 70 million euros from the National Youth Service. The organisation's head is one of more than a dozen people arrested in a dawn police raid.
Also, Madagascar sees a rise in the number of business people being kidnapped in the capital, Antananarivo. Most of the victims are from the Karana community, whose few members play a disproportionately large role in the country’s economy and are thus seen as high-value targets by those looking for ransoms.
And Siya Kolisi becomes the first black South African to captain the national rugby side in a full test match. His promotion is being viewed as a positive sign of the sport’s efforts to move away from its racially divided past.
