Why are city rankings important? What makes a city the most livable? What decisions can have an impact on making your city better?
In this reSITE Small Talk with urbanist journalist Andrew Tuck and architect Adam Gebrian, we hear about how Tuck ranks cities and why it matters to travelers and citizens of the cities. He says that anyone can make a difference in their city by making a small decision to improve it, such as picking up trash they walk by. When discussing Prague, he admires the public transportation system as well as how people go out into the city and spend time in it.
Andrew Tuck is the founding editor of the global magazine “Monocle”, host of The Urbanist, the Monocle 24 radio show dedicated to making better cities, and the editor of The Monocle Book Collection, including The Monocle Guide to Better Living, and the ever-expanding Travel Guide Series.
Adam Gebrian is a Czech architect, theorist, and promoter of architecture. Instead of designing buildings, Adam decided to be on the promoting side of architecture. In 2015, he was awarded the “Architect of the Year” prize for his tireless publishing and discussion activities done in public spaces, aimed at raising awareness of architectural culture.
They met in Prague, at the ESKA restaurant in Karlin.
