FRP Pipe leak repair with epoxy composites
This video demonstrates how to quickly and easily seal a live leak on a pipe and how to reinforce the repair with epoxy composites to provide a permanent repair. epoxy composites are designed to provide an instant leak sealing and a rapid permanent repair. Step 1: Stop the leak with 9611 (ES-Metal): - Roughen the surface around the leak using a file. - 9611 (ES-Metal) is a fast curing epoxy compound that can be applied on live leaks. - Once mixed, this material cures within 4 minutes stopping the water flow instantly. - 9611 (ES-Metal) is supplied with a Tourniquet to hold the material in place until it cures. - After 20 minutes approximately, the Tourniquet can be removed. Step 2: Reinforced repair with 1111 (Super Metal) - Roughen the surface and 9611 (ES-Metal) using a mechanical tool to achieve a good adhesion. - Clean the metal surface using 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser). - 1111 (Super Metal) is a simple to use epoxy composite for metal repair. - Reinforcement Sheet is used to strengthen the repair. - A first layer of material is applied to ensure a good contact between the surface and the product. - 1111 (Super Metal) is spread onto the reinforcement sheet to fully impregnate it. - Then the impregnated reinforcement sheet is wrapped around the repair area. - A further layer of 1111 (Super Metal) is applied to encapsulate the repair.
