Current Situation:
Low pressure is filling over the top of the country and the weather is calming down...
Today:
Thursday begins with showers in the northern half of the country while the south is mostly dry. Some of the showers are wintry over the Scottish hills. We've got blustery winds through Northern Ireland and northern England but elsewhere winds are lighter.
Through the rest of the day heavy showers will become widespread across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with a risk of hail and thunder in some of the heavier downpours. The showers will eventually fade across Northern Ireland while many central and southern parts of England and Wales will only have a few scattered light showers. Winds will be quite blustery at times across England and Wales. Temperatures will be chilly ranging from 5C to 12C.
Tonight:
Many of the showers will die out but a few wintry showers will keep going across Scotland. By the end of the night heavier, more persistent rain will arrive in the far south west of England. A cold night with a slight frost almost anywhere away from the south. -1C to +5C.
Tomorrow
Outbreaks of rain in the south gradually clearing away later. Sunshine and showers elsewhere with some heavy and thundery showers in places. Watch out for hail and thunder in the heavier downpours. Temperatures will be cool at 5C to 13C.

Saturday: Mostly dry but some rain for Northern Ireland. Milder.
Sunday: Mostly dry but rather a lot of cloud. Much warmer.
Monday: Mostly dry with sunny spells. Warm.
