- The Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" revealed a secret report of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), highlighting a series of technical and practical malfunctions suffered by the advanced fighter jet "F-35", which is one of the most expensive warplanes in history with a development cost exceeding 1.8 trillion dollars.
The report-prepared by the newspaper's New York correspondent Daniel Edelson - spoke about major problems that may affect the effectiveness of the fighter jet, at a time when its Israeli version, known as"Adair", is one of the main pillars of the Israeli Air Force.
One of the most prominent issues raised by the report is the frequent malfunctions of the stealth system of the F-35, as this aircraft is designed to be stealth, which means it can penetrate hostile airspace without being detected by advanced air defense systems.
But the report noted that this system does not work as efficiently as expected, and it has difficulty maintaining stealth features in real combat environments. It is expected that these systems will be more effective in hiding the aircraft than advanced air systems belonging to hostile countries, such as Russian and Chinese defense systems.
Despite the previous statements of the company "Lockheed Martin", which confirmed that the aircraft is capable of stealth even in complex conditions, the report revealed a gradual deterioration in the performance of this system, which leads to an increase in the chances of monitoring the aircraft during missions.
