The 3 Hail Mary Novena, is a plea to protect me blessed virgin mary . It is one of my prayer of protection . I also makes a YouTube that is comforting which asks the blessed virgin mary for protection. In the same way a child asks their mother to “ protect me ” . My prayer of protection prayer consists of three hail marys and additional prayers. It can be said as a single prayer or as a novena , 9 days in a row.

The practice of reciting the Hail Mary three times dates at least to the 12th century. One of the first to practice and recommend it was St. Anthony of Padua (1195–1231). His purpose was "to honor the spotless Virginity of Mary and to preserve a perfect purity of mind, heart and body in the midst of the dangers of the world".
It has become a common practice for Catholics to offer three Hail Mary’s for any given problem or petition such as protection for one’s country, personal safety or healing.
The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut. People said three hail marys for the school shooting praying of one Hail Mary for the deceased and their families, one for first responders and teachers, and one for the community.

As we confront pandemic and unrest, let us say: 1 Hail Mary for those killed, injured, affected & their families, 1 Hail Mary for affected communities, and 1 Hail Mary for first responders, justice and safety.
