The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting involving Fort Collins Police officers early Friday morning.
On Thursday, at about 11 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services got information about a vehicle in the area wanted for a possible kidnapping out of Weld County, according to the sheriff's office.
On Friday, at around 12:50 a.m., Larimer County Sheriff's deputies found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle near West Elizabeth Street and South Shields Street, the sheriff's office said in a release. The deputies pursued the suspect vehicle which eluded deputies for several miles through west Fort Collins, according to the sheriff's office.
After 1 a.m., a deputy used ties spikes at the intersection of Horsetooth Road and College Avenue, the sheriff's office said. The driver who was traveling east in the westbound lanes, drove at the deputy, according to the sheriff's office. The deputy fired his weapon and the suspect drove away along Horsetooth Road, the release said.
