Beauty in The South of Bangladesh
Feb 2021
Kuakata is located 220 KM from Dhaka by road and by river it is 308 KM upto Amtoli and from there another 50 KM by road to Kuakata. We took river way to have different taste after long time . We boarded steamer at 0530 pm at Sdarghat . We werea gp of six families. It was actualy fifty years back when we needed to board launch at night and reach city in the morning . But this launch journey is amazing at sun set . Families got busy in photoshoot . The steamer cruising in the river in mighty way . There are foods snacks and coffee available in the canteen .Joint adda cracking jokes kept us busy till late night . Slowly the group thinned out for sleep except night watcher .Little cold breeze with distant glimmering light on the shore made the mind travel back.In the wee hours of next day we reached Amtoli .From there we traveled to Kuakata by microbus.
We divide our selves to two locations at kuakata for lodging one group at Grand Kuakata Hotel and another group at Ansar VDP rest house .
There are hardly few things to visit at Kuakata . This place is for nature lovers. For next twenty hours we planned to visit Phatrar char ,Sun Set at Kuakata ,visit Rakhain Market and Sun Rise at Durgamotir chor.
To visit Phatrar char we had to deep our more than ankle in the water to get on boat after five minutes boat rise we got into trawler a local engine boat . It was one hour boat ride with inceaseant snacks ,craking jokes and photoshoot . Most attractive part was when we left sea and entered in a narrow canal with unknown plants and hurbson both sides. After 15 minutes ride we went Wild animal sanctuary . Though there was no animal seen but the ladies loved the spot for eronomus opportunity for photoshoot . After spending an hour we returned back to Kuakata .
After lunch we visited beach in the afternoon .The beach is not fully sandy and the water is not clear muddy . There are few shops in the beach for snacks and coffe . Well spending and watching SunSet is really a breather from busy life.
Evening was spent on Rakhain market . Most suitable for ladies .We had quite dinner and some of us planned to vist Durgamotir Chor for SunRise.
There is no vehicle for going there only motor cycles and few Tempos (Taxi). We got us at 0330 to try our luck . Our senior ladies declined to ride tripple in bike . Luckily we gota Tempo . within the city it was okay but as soon as it left turf into beach it was difficult control the vehicle.Sometimes it stopped . We put our hands to push and again it started rolling. Chilled winter breeze in very early hours was hitting us. We were clothwed with jacket and scurf . Finally we reached there at 0430.Not many reached as yet There are two three hut shops for tea or coffee.I have watched sunrise in many countries but this one was very special for me. Rural people walking few KM gathering to see sun rise . Day Light was breaking and more people presence was felt We had tea from Local shops .This was an amazing feeling . Sun Slowly spreading it light . Good to see there are some professional photographers too.We returned with the same Tempo . Kuakata is adeveloping Tourist spot hope
