On 13th July for the 2nd year running The Royal Scotsman paid a short visit to the NVR during its tour around the UK. Top and tailed by WCR Class 37 37685 and Class 57 57001 the tour arrived in the early hours of Wednesday morning and was serviced at Wansford before leaving at around 9 o'clock. We first see the tour at Yatch Club crossing heading for Orton Mere to leave the railway with the 37 leading. After doing a circular run via Spalding we see it again heading for Ely crossing the river Nene as it passes the NVR eastern terminus.
