The Egongyan Bridge is a cross-river passage connecting Jiulongpo District and Nan'an District in Chongqing, China. It is located above the Yangtze River. It is a portal-shaped double-tower suspension bridge and is a component of the east-west expressway in the main urban area of Chongqing.
The Egongyan Bridge was started on December 27, 1997 and opened to traffic on December 27, 2000.
The Egongyan Bridge starts at Egongyan Interchange in Jiulongpo District in the west and ends at Zhaojiaba Interchange in Nan'an District in the east. The length of the main bridge is 1.42 kilometers; the bridge deck is arranged with two-way 8 lanes and the design maximum speed is 80 kilometers/hour. ; The estimated total investment of the project is RMB 1.41 billion.
The Egongyan Bridge project starts from Chenjiaping, the terminus of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, passes through Dagongguan, Xiejiawan, and after the Egongyan Bridge, it is connected to Haixia Road for four kilometers in the Nan'an District. The main bridge starts at Egongyan Interchange in Jiulongpo District in the west and ends at Zhaojiaba Interchange in Nan'an District in the east.
The Egongyan Bridge connects Chongqing's Jiulongpo District, Nan'an District, the original economic development zone and the original high-tech development zone. It will play an important role in improving Chongqing's transportation network structure and promoting the social and economic development of Chongqing and the west.
