It's high summer and in this video I head for a short evening session on the local River Wey in Surrey. Following a thunder storm and heavy downpour the previous night, the air is still muggy and the river is up and coloured, so my hopes of catching a barbel are about as high as they get.
Fishing a feeder with mashed pellets, I tackle a new swim on a narrow stretch of the river, casting to gap between two willows in search of what might be lurking underneath the far bankside cover...
