Bus services in the tourist hotspot that is the Lake District are under the operations of Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire, among the various very scenic routes in the area are a couple of predominantly open top routes, the 599 and the 78. The 599 uses 6 year old Volvo B5TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3s and the 78 a 57 reg ADL Trident 2/Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 and two 51 plate Dennis Trident 2/ALX400s with closed top buses substituting for when one is unavailable. On a visit to the area earlier this year I managed to record both the ALX400s on the route and after having 17489 to Seatoller I waited half an hour for sister bus 17490/LX51FMK which currently carries the TSV720 registration, it's recorded working its way back along the lanes towards Keswick.
