While our weather can definitely be moody, let's take a look at some averages.
Nashville, Tenn only experiences snowfall about 14 days per year with very little accumulation. In my experience, we get hit with a good snow storm about once every 5-8 years, and it shuts everything down until the snow melts.
The South is known for its humidity, and Nashville is no exception. Our average humidity is 69%, less than Houston, Texas, which comes in at 75%. September is the most humid month, with an average humidity of 73.7%. April is the least humid at 63.2%.
Average temperatures in Nashville range from a low of 28 degrees in January to a high of 90 in July. Nashvillians learn quickly to dress in layers, as the mornings often start out really cool but will warm up significantly throughout the day.
Finally - this one will surprise you. Nashville, Tennessee's average yearly rainfall is greater than Seattle, Washington's annual rainfall! Nashville sees an average of 49 inches of rain per year, while Seattle only gets 38 inches. In Nashville, May is the wettest month with 5.5 inches of rain and October is the driest with 3 inches of rain.
