According to the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries’ data, Indonesia has 17,504 named islands and 13,466 islands have been registered to the UN. Indonesia’s waters span over 5.8 million km2 with a coastline of 104,000 km. Our seas contain great marine and fisheries potential to support natural resource-based economic development.
