Citroen Ami First Drive: A Very Quirky Quadricycle
Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. Last week I headed up to Coventry to test the new C4 and ë-C4, and whilst I was there, something small and quirky caught my eye.
It was the Citroën Ami, a quadricycle designed for urban mobility. It's powered by a 6kW motor (8hp), which feeds its power from a dinky 5.5kWh battery. Designed for inner-city driving, the Ami has a range of 43 miles and a top speed of just 28mph.
It takes 3 hours to charge, and the only way to do so is via a traditional plug socket. The car may look too small for 6'2" height, but the headroom is surprisingly spacious, and there's even room for a passenger.
At present, it's not actually available in the UK, although Citroën UK are keen to bring it across the channel. To give an idea of price, in France it costs €6000, which works out to be around £5,200. In France there is also the option to rent it, or access the vehicle via a car sharing program.
