A special experience on a snow groomer
Lots of adrenaline and exciting insights into the daily work at cable car and lift stations is offered to experienced piste athletes choosing the “Free Fall Ride” at the Croda Rossa Three Peaks/3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort.
Known as one of the steepest descents in the Alps, the deep black “Holzriese” piste is a big challenge – not only for skiers but also for the staff members working at cable cars and lifts, who are in charge of excellent snow conditions and perfect slope grooming. Only the brave participants of the “Free Fall Ride” will discover what exactly one can expect from this challenge: they accompany technicians into the cockpit of a snow groomer on its evening ride, which provides almost exactly as much thrill on Italy’s steepest groomed slope as the descent itself. Once the slopes are prepared for the next day, they head back to the valley by snow groomer.
On a vehicle weighing some tons, the descent down to the valley station feels somehow like a “free fall”, its passengers having certainly fun heading downhill – just not the usual way.
