Today focuses on day 3 in the Lombardy region of Italy, with Paul, Tony and I confronted by the Mortirolo from Mazzo di Valtelina. 11.5km at 11.7% seemed tough but challenging on paper..... but the reality is a relentless trial of MAMIL & carbon vs geology. What a slog.... but what an experience !! I'll be back for sure ! After a heavenly descent we then take on Passo Gavia, cycling's anointed Queen to the Great King Stelvio ! A contrasting and beautiful experience with a 2nd sublime descent. A day out cycling doesn't get much better than this, and I think it will make you want to book your flights to Milan and accommodation in Bormio !
