After his loss to Jose Figueroa at M-1 Challenge 24 Artem Damkovsky lost his title, so he had to win against someone with big name to get back on winning track and earn his rematch against the champion. Rising Croatian prospect stood on Artem’s way back to the title.

World FILA grappling champion Antun “Killer” Racic came to M-1 Global having 8 victories in 10 pro fights. He lost to Alexey Nevzorov, then he won against experienced veteran Vugar Bakhshiev. The fight against Damkovsky was going to be the classic fight between high-level striker and very methodic and technically gifted grappler.
