This property, situated on the northern border of the plateau of Pomerol. It was purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953.
The vineyard is planted on heavy clay soils, which is excellent for the growth of Merlot grapes their best expression. It is mean to be fruit driven and approachable young. The winery is about 9 hectares in size. The vineyard is planted 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc although in most years, the wine produced is made with 100% Merlot grapes. The wine is aged in oak for 16-18 months (40% new oak). The grapes are vinified at Chateau Trotanoy.
The 2017 vintage was rated 92 pts Wine Spectator. 2550 cases of wine was produced in 2017,
I purchased it from B.C. Liquor stores for $75 non including taxes.
