The author in this chapter has written about her ecological journey, which started from her childhood, and later when she participated in the chipko movement, she got to learn a lot about the nature’s exploitation.
The author in this chapter highlights the importance of nature, biodiversity & forests.
In this chapter we get to know about the Navdanya Farm, which was founded by the author that provides training to the farmers on organic farming, and best farming techniques. The author has also worked with the farmers, to preserve many varieties of Indian cereals like rice.
The author gets a lot of inspiration from the “Forest University” which was founded by Shri Rabindranath Tagore, the purpose & idea behind starting this school, this inspiration inspires the author to establish the “Earth University” located at Navdanya.
This chapter educates us about the important of nature, forests, biodiversity & also makes us aware about the nature’s exploitation due to industrialization.
We get a message to love our nature, which is a god’s gift & to use it smartly.
