The monthly figure of people claiming to be refugees in Australia has almost doubled since last year.
More than 85 per cent of applicant cases submitted are found to be false.
14 failed asylum seekers were deported last month, although figures from the Department of Home Affairs reveal over 100,000 people are awaiting either deportation or an update on their refugee status.
