Talented. Fearless. Courageous. Inspiring. These are words that have never been used to describe our riding. Especially when we are warming up on with some log hops. One of these days we will probably wake up to ourselves. We have tried everything to improve our shitty riding skills. Billet alloy fuel caps. Traction eRag stickers. Fishnet stockings. Even astrology. There's a reason for this sad music. Because it is sad at how much we struggle to get over very basic obstacles. And we make it even tougher for each other. When Scott wasn't looking we put his little two hundred into second gear and Scott can't figure out why his bike keeps stalling. Scott is so used to the pumpkin stalling he thinks there's nothing wrong and that he is in first gear.
And now it's Benji. We expect big things from Benji. He has the billet alloy fuel cap. Traction eRag stickers. Fishnet stockings. And his astrology chart told him you're head is in uranus. Ben has also been getting some tips from an enduro neurologist. Speaking of tyres, I still get a lot of questions about which tyres I would recommend. And as usual, I refuse to make any recommendations because I know bugger all about tyres and will probably give you shitty advice. However, Andrew has no problems with giving shitty advice, and wanted to talk about his latest setup.
There are heaps of new hard enduro events being created by Grassroots Enduro Australia, so Ben has been finding some nasty practice sections for us. Today, only Scott is brave enough to give this one a try. Time for that heroic drum music again. The options? Try to hop over a rock which could easily throw you over the handlebars on this slope. Or try to squeeze the bike through a narrow gap that will remodel the exhaust pipe free of charge. Now it's Benji's turn. The billet alloy fuel cap helps to balance the bike. The fishnet stockings are giving him extra confidence, and probably a small chubby as well. Jeff is on hand to throw some environmentally friendly confetti. Will Benji try the death defying rock hop? Yes, he's made it!
It's hard work being such shit hot riders. One of our secrets of course, is a healthy diet. And today we reveal our best kept secret. The Costco dog. Cue the sad music. A bit of a nasty crash coming up for me. Thankfully not serious, but it left me with a sore neck and low grade headaches for about six weeks. A bit of a wake up call though. This was just above walking speed and shows how easy it is to get a very mild concussion. And in my late 50s, I wonder how little it would take to break my neck and end up paralysed. So unfortunately I'll be opting out of the more difficult stuff in future. The dodgy knees had already set a limit on the risks I was willing to take. I just hope the other guys are crazy enough to do the tough stuff and keep providing plenty of crash footage.
Enough of this depressing music. Something light and fluffy to end with. Catch you guys later.
