কলেজ শিক্ষককে পিটিয়ে মারার ঘ্টনায় পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে খাগড়াছড়ি সদরে বিকাল ৩টা থেকে অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য ১৪৪ ধারা জারি করেছে উপজেলা প্রশাসন। দুপুরে খাগড়াছড়ি টেকনিক্যাল স্কুল এন্ড কলেজের শিক্ষক সোহেল রানার বিরুদ্ধে ধর্ষণের অভিযোগ তুলে, পিটিয়ে হত্যা করে পাহাড়ি কয়েকজন শিক্ষার্থী। এই ঘটনায় মুহূর্তের মধ্যে উত্তপ্ত হয়ে উঠে সদরসহ আশপাশের এলাকা। শিক্ষক নিহতের জেরে সংঘর্ষে জড়ায় পাহাড়ি-বাঙালি ছাত্রদের দুই পক্ষ।
