The Hero Mavrick 440 is the second bike to come from the Hero-Harley-Davidson joint development project and it's a good bike to ride! Here's what you need to know. First, the Hero Mavrick intends to straddle the retro world in terms of how the engine is a long-stroke motor, makes lots of torque and has a reasonably low redline. But it has a capable chassis with 17-inch wheels that make it nimble and fun to ride. It's an odd combination, to be honest, but the good thing is that it might cause challenges for the design team, but to ride, it's good. Second, it is nearly identical to the Harley X440 in many ways. The engine is the same with almost no mechanical differences, the chassis frame is the same as well but the changes are to the suspension, both units and setup, the size of the wheels, the steering geometry, which lead the Mavrick to a very different feel. Third, the other changes are in all the rest of the equipment – bodywork, seat, instruments all of that is different too. In this FAQ series, we'll take a detailed look at Hero's biggest own-brand motorcycle.
