Things get a little heated between the Nets & the Nuggets late in a 2003/04 regular season game at the New Jersey Meadowlands, though cooler heads would end up prevailing & they'd never get to the next level. 1st, Richard Jefferson & Carmelo Anthony draw double technicals after exchanging some shoves & words; & then, Nenê is called for a personal foul as he tries to get under Kenyon Martin's skin, with the latter having already gotten a T earlier in the game, getting tangled up with him by putting him in a headlock & not letting go off him, but Martin would hold his temper & walk away after pulling himself from his grasp. "That was very hard. Two years ago, yeah, I probably would have done something. Two years ago, I probably would have punched him, dead serious. I had to calm down real quick, think about the consequences", Martin said. Added Jason Kidd: "Two years ago, he might have taken a swing at him. It shows how far he's come."
