First off, apologies, the vid may look choppy and that's due to the recording software (ShadowPlay) capturing the footage at 60fps while the game's running at 50fps. Don't be discouraged, it's only the video that's choppy and actual gameplay is/will be much, much smoother. I encourage you to run the game and set the refresh rate to 50Hz, enable Vsync and see it for yourself.
Unfortunately ShadowPlay does not have option to record gameplay at 50Hz refresh rate.
Anyways, WD2 is a very CPU heavy title and for gamers with i5/GTX 970 or equivalent GPU, a consistent 60fps at 1080p is off the table even at lowest possible settings. So this rendering technique was somewhat helpful - Targeting 50Hz instead of 60 and use custom gfx settings. Start by selecting 'High' preset and work your way up from there until you have about 10-5% GPU headroom left in GPU intensive scenes. This will ensure, for the most part, a rock solid 50fps... Only when driving, especially in building heavy scenes, you'll notice some minor frame-rate drops due to CPU.
Another thing to note is that ShadowPlay shaves off about 3-4fps while recording. So the moments when the engine drops to 49-47fps often in busy areas is actually solid 50fps when not recording.
