How to tell if your fan is clockwise or counterclockwise kind of feels like taking a true-false test. You think it’s going to be super easy, but it never is.
But it’s actually not that hard. We’re standing on the correct side to know if your wheel is supposed to be clockwise or counterclockwise. It’s all about which side of the fan you look at it from, and this question is always answered from the drive side.
So looking at it from the side where the fan is driven by a motor, you can tell whether it’s (in this case) counterclockwise or clockwise. By looking at where the outlet is, you can always tell where the air is supposed to exit. That’s the direction of rotation at which the wheel is supposed to be, so this fan we’re looking at is counterclockwise.
