The doctrine of the separation of powers applies differently in Australia. In this video, we will go over the meaning and justification of the doctrine of separation of powers, and how it is applied, if it is applied at all, in Australia. We will look at the Australian Constitution and some cases related to the separation of powers, the functions of the three branches of government: Executive, Judiciary and Legislature, and we will see how all of this is applied in the Australian legal system.
