The first time a pitcher steps on the mound can be daunting. A new position on a foreign slanted surface as all eyes are on you.
As coaches, we want to begin the pitching process by allowing the player to first get comfortable toeing the rubber, coming set, leg lift, and delivering down the mound.
General Manager, David Birkby, maps out each step coaches need to take to build their 9-year-old player to be comfortable taking the mound in a game.
P.S. These reps will not be perfect; however, they will build the player's familiarity and comfort at each point of pitching mechanics.
