The twin shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 5F crisis (food, feed, fuel, fertilizer and finance) have shown up structural weaknesses and the low levels of resilience in our agrifood systems. In conjunction with climate change and conflict, these crises are significantly derailing progress towards the achievement of the 2030 SDG Agenda. Countries agreed at the UN Food Systems Summit in 2021 on the need to reshape and reimagine their agrifood systems and demonstrated their resolve and commitment through the development of national pathways. FAO’s mission, institutionalized in its Strategic Framework (2022-31), is to support this transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems for better production, better nutrition, better environment and better lives, leaving no one behind. The Symposium aims to provide a platform for exchange of knowledge and foster learning across agrifood systems to accelerate this transformative process.
Join the Symposium in person or via Zoom to:
Hear from Ministers, FAO Director General and development partners on actions now and next
Dive deep into multiple aspects of agrifood systems with globally renowned experts
