Welcome to a full loop of the Blue Grade mountain biking trail at Coed-y-Brenin Forest, Wales!
With all the lockdowns etc., holidays have been restricted to not going abroad, which is not really much of an issue, since we have some beautiful riding in the UK - se we went to Wales.
I like to try and research mtb trails for their suitability for my and other's (in this case beginner) skill levels before I go and ride them, so if you're a girl/woman (or boy, or man for that matter) new to, or coming back to MTB, then hopefully you'll find this useful and know what to expect on the ride.
The blue-grade Minotaur trail at Coed Y Brenin is a really well thought out, fun and achievable trail to ride, with plenty of fun bits thrown in that experienced riders will be able to make use of!
The trail is broken down into 4 loops, so you can tailor the length of you ride a little to suit you, which is a really nice touch! Check the trail map at the start of the trail to decide!
Another nice little touch are the warning signs - this isn't there to put you off, but it is a trail that gets ridden by families and riders of all abilities, so for some, even kerb-stone sized drops / steps are worthy of caution. I really like this, as the little signs give me a bit of time to prepare - as you know, I like to try and work on things...
I shot this on 03/09/2020, so this shows late summer / early autumn type conditions. It had rained the day before, so even on the slate / shingle surface, there was plenty of grip.
