Step 4: Get your free Voter I.D.
It is a a requirement for voters in England to show their photo I.D when voting at a polling station. Therefore, if you don't already have photo identification, you can register for your free Voter I.D.

The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate to vote in the Parliamentary general election on Thursday 4 July is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June.
