Hi Everyone
Welcome back to the fifth and final day on the Cumbria Way with me and @Walkingwildcampinguk
Before you do watch, if you have not already, please go and take a look at Days one, two and three and four which are also on both our channels.
Today is the final day of our Cumbria Way adventure. Much maligned by a lot of folk as being a 'tedious and boring day' is anything but.
Please try not to compare this section with any of the previous 4 days. There are no mountains in this one, just beautiful countryside walking mainly along side the stunning River Caldew. We take in woodland, rolling meadows, country homes, village churches, sheep, cows, and horses, stiles, gates, lovely river bridges and railway lines, before finally arriving in to the heart of the city of Carlisle to reach the end of the trail.
A word of caution, don't make the mistake we did and wait until Dalston to get some food as it's two thirds of the way in to the day. Make sure you have some breakfast before you leave the camp site. Having said that, we stopped off at the Country Kitchen Cafe in the main sqaure where we had a lovely home cooked meal which set us up for the final 5 miles in to Carlisle.
So, once again join me and Mossy on our adventure from Caldbeck to Carlisle on the final day on the Cumbria Way.
Below are some useful links that may be of interest to you if you want to take on the amazing Cumbria Way, or even just this section.
