In this presentation, "Candida auris Emergence", Dr Methee Chayakulkeeree provides insights into the emergence of this fungal pathogen and why the appearance of the often–multidrug-resistant C. auris could be a cause for concern. Recommendations on how to stop its spread are discussed. Hospital policies should be developed for the prevention and control of this infection.

Dr Chayakulkeeree is associate professor at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine of the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He is also a board member of the Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG).
