Today I decided to get up early to make the most of my remaining time in the Kern River Valley and go out fly fishing before the sunrise. Since today was the day I needed to continue onto the longest leg of my 1700 mile road trip. The ultimate goal for the day was to catch a few of the Kern river Rainbow trout and bring them out to Death Valley where I planned to make myself a lunch. The plan seemed simple. However, Once I reached death valley and temperatures reached over 116 Degrees Fahrenheit I started to realized I might have just bitten of more than I could chew. Even with that realization I decided follow through with my plan knowing this would be the world’s first catch and cook in Death valley and ultimately a unique experience I will remember for years to come. Definitely one for the books.
