Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall over the northern Baja California peninsula Sunday. According to the National Weather Service, the storm is likely to bring "life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flooding" to Baja California and parts of the southwestern United States through Monday. KCRA 3's team of meteorologists has been tracking the movement of the storm, which was initially a Hurricane but was downgraded on Sunday. Southern California has experienced heavy rainfall from San Diego to the Los Angeles area. Several California state parks and beaches are closed due to the storm. On Saturday Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency.
